Application Forms - Primary State of Residence Declaration
The Texas Board of Nursing participates in the Nurse Licensure Compact. As part of the multistate licensure process, applicants for licensure in Texas must declare their primary state of residence and identify the states where they are practicing or intend to practice.
Declaration of Primary State of Residence
Applicants who declare Texas as their primary state of residence may continue with the Texas multistate licensure process if they meet the other licensure requirements.
Applicants who declare a different compact state as their primary state of residence may not become licensed in Texas through this process, because a multistate license issued by that home state can be used to practice in Texas.
For additional information about multistate licensure, review the Board's Nurse Licensure Compact guidance.
Submit Through the Texas Nurse Portal
