Initial Licensure and Recognition Forms - Nurse Database Electronic File Order

The Texas Board of Nursing offers electronic files for the Registered Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse databases.

Test Site Notice

This is a test site. The content is still under development and not yet live.

Database Information

The complete electronic list of the Registered Nurse database, the Licensed Vocational Nurse database, or the Advanced Practice Registered Nurse database contains nurses who have been issued a license in Texas.

Each database may be ordered either as the entire database or as a listing of only currently licensed nurses. Files are split into sets of 60,000 records or fewer and are pipe-delimited, fixed-length, text-based, and sorted by last name.

The files can be imported, searched, and manipulated using standard PC software. For details on how to work with the files, please use your software reference manual or built-in help resources.

Note: The Texas Attorney General's Office has ruled that dates of birth are no longer releasable. That column has been redacted from the form and data release.

Delivery Format

The database and a copy of the file layout will be mailed to you on CD-ROM via FedEx.

Because of the size and quantity of the files, the Board does not send them by email or by file transfer protocol (FTP).
