2016 Workplace Violence Against Nurses Survey

The Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies (TCNWS) is currently conducting a survey of individual nurses on workplace violence against nurses stemming from HB 2696 passed in the 84th Legislative Session.

A sample of approximately 7,500 RNs and LVNs in Texas have been mailed a survey regarding their experiences with workplace violence as it relates to both verbal and physical violence over the course of their career.

Data collected from this survey will serve as a guide for the development of policy recommendations by the TCNWS Advisory Committee and information you provide may be instrumental in shaping legislation geared toward preventing workplace violence against nurses in Texas.

Make Your Voice Heard!!

Your participation is highly encouraged!

A random sample of nurses will, or have already, received a survey by regular mail. You can participate by returning the survey in the included self-addressed, postage-paid envelope by August 30th.

Whether you have or have not experienced violence in the workplace, your response to this survey is needed to illustrate the prevalence of workplace violence against nurses in Texas and to help the Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies Advisory Committee make policy recommendations to address workplace violence against nurses in Texas.

Results from this survey will be available in December 2016.
