Description of Duties
Will influence and inform public policy related to the nursing education programs. Will conduct school site visits to nursing programs and analyze and evaluate proposals for new programs and program changes. Will interpret the Nursing Practice Act, Board rules, regulations, policies and educational standards to individuals and groups using telephone, computer, written correspondence and in public forums and workshops. Will respond to phone calls and written correspondence concerning nursing education and practice issues. Will assist in the development of Board rules and agency’s strategic plan. Will participate in the development of regulatory policies and procedures and prepare reports and analyze regulatory and legislative issues for the Board. Will staff Board advisory committees. Will prepare reports and present the same to the Board. Participate in staff discussion, planning, development and implementation of overall agency objectives. Minimum Requirements:
Experience:
Must have experience in various types of professional nursing positions. Teaching experience in nursing programs is preferred.
Education:
Must hold a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university. Will accept a minimum of BSN and working toward completion of MSN degree. A doctorate degree in nursing or related field is preferred.
License:
Must hold a clear and current Texas registered nursing license or be eligible for same.
